Lego creator stegosaurus is one of Lego’s best dinosaur sets and a great buy considering it has over 700 hundred pieces.

Step into the Jurassic and build an amour plated Stegosaurus, a ferocious T Rex or the grandfather of the birds, a Pterodactyl. Kids’ obsession with dinosaurs is not stopping any time soon!

Whilst the figures are not realistic, they are an interesting stylized version. All the models move well, adding to the play value when the model is finished. The Stegosaurus is articulated, his spike covered tail lashes and whips, the armor plates spread and close, the legs rotate, opening mouth, the head and neck moves in most directions. The eyes light up and glow red.

The model is large at 17 inches long (43cm) and 8 inches high (20cm) and looks great on display. Kids love admiring and showing their accomplishments.

Being able to rebuild the set into a T Rex or Pterodactyl allows further play, and gives a child lots of pieces to create their own dinosaur designs.

This is a challenging set, and well rewards an intermediate Lego lover. The main task is sorting over 700 hundred pieces!

Children and parents love classic Lego because of the infinite combinations it offers. However one of the criticisms of Lego kits is that they provide a readymade design which may stifle a child’s creativity and negate the value of the play. I think the sets simply offer children a starting point, which they can extend and expand upon in whatever direction a child wishes. Everyone needs inspiration. Creativity is taking what inspires you and moving it in a unique direction.
